About CAMT

The Center for Arts Management and Technology (CAMT) is an applied research center at Carnegie Mellon University.

CAMT investigates ways technology can improve and enhance the practice of arts management and, when appropriate, develops technology solutions and services that meet critical needs in the field.

CAMT is committed to:

• working with researchers and practitioners interested in computer/information systems technology, and explore its viability and applicability in the management of professional visual and performing arts, cultural and heritage organizations;
• testing emerging technology for applicability and effectiveness for use by arts, cultural and heritage organizations;
• providing opportunities for managers to test the emerging and established technology in their own organizations; and
• sharing our research with a wide network of arts administrators worldwide.

We partner with nonprofit arts organizations from all artistic disciplines from around the country. In addition to online software tools, we provide consulting services, an informational blog and a podcast.

Our team is made up of geeky artists and arts enthusiasts with a passion for streamlining arts management processes through intelligent use of technology. We also provide professional development workshops and seminars on topics related to our mission.
